Baffles and Clouds are acoustical panels that significantly reduce reflected noise in large, open rooms where sound reflects off of hard surfaces such as walls, ceilings, glass windows, even floors and tables. They can dramatically improve not only the acoustics, but the aesthetic presentation of large rooms.
Both baffles and clouds are hung from the ceiling. Baffles are oriented vertically with respect to the ceiling and clouds are oriented horizontally. They are particularly effective in large rooms with high ceilings such as auditoriums, churches, gymnasiums, manufacturing facilities, etc and in large common areas such as airports or shopping malls. They are also used in large rooms with low ceilings where there are concentrations of people and equipment and where reflected noise interferes with speech intelligibility. Open bay office areas, with or without cubicles, and dining areas are excellent examples. They are also effective both as an acoustical and design solution in rooms with exposed ceilings.
Both baffles and clouds are pre-assembled to your specifications. Graphics can be incorporated to establish themes or as stand-alone designs. Baffles or clouds of different sizes, shapes, colors, and textures can be used in conjunction with one another to achieve a desired effect. So effective are they as a design element, that in most cases their acoustical role goes unrecognized. Finally, they can be easily and quickly installed providing a low cost acoustical solution.
