Fabricmate helped pioneer the site-fabricated, stretched-fabric wall panel system more than twenty years ago. Since that time, we have continued to innovate and improve our products to meet the changing demands of our customers and job site conditions. This is why Fabricmate site-fabricated products have become industry standards and why they continue to be specified on a daily basis by architects and designers and installed by contractors worldwide.
The Fabricmate System is time proven and is generally accepted as an “approved equal” to alternative products. Its versatility makes it equally useful in commercial, educational, and residential applications.
The advantages of our site-fabricated system are many. It can be used on almost any rigid surface. Further it can conform to almost any shape of surface and it is ideally suited to treat walls of any size as well as ceilings, soffits, alcoves and other architectural details. It is also used effectively in ceiling applications. The Fabricmate system offers many significant advantages over standard wrapped panels.
The Fabricmate system is framed in high-impact plastic to protect the edges from crushing. Unlike wrapped panels, the covering is not glued to the surface of the substrate. It is held in place by the track and is free-floating across the surface. This virtually eliminates the visible surface damage that typically occurs when wrapped panels, or even painted drywall surfaces are hit. Your panels will stay looking as good as the day they were installed. Most of our coverings resist abrasion and soiling, and many can be spot cleaned on site. In the event that a section of panel does become damaged, there is no need to remove the entire panel (or panels) nor purchase new ones and wait weeks or months for a replacement. New covering is delivered in just a few days. The damaged section of covering is easily removed from the track and the new covering installed in just a few minutes. Many Fabricmate installers offer a fabric replacement program where a percentage of the fabric purchased will be replaced if damaged at no cost. In short you will realize greatly reduced maintenance costs.
Acceptance of the Fabricmate site-fabricated system has been without reservation. It has been used in corporate lobbies and offices for some of the best known companies in the world. It is regularly specified in colleges and major universities throughout the United States and Canada for use in classrooms and in student housing. Numerous universities and K-12 school systems have specified it as a “district standard”. The short installation time and reduced maintenance costs were the key factors in these decisions. Fabricmate systems are also routinely used extensively in meeting rooms, theaters and auditoriums, restaurants, worship facilities and a host of business, commercial, educational, and home applications.
The system consists of a high-impact plastic track, which is installed around the perimeter and at intermediate points as needed on the surface of the area to be covered. The track is typically installed with narrow-crown staples or drywall screws. The area defined by the track is then filled in with the specified substrate. The final step is to cover the panel with a fabric or other covering which is inserted into a hidden channel in the track with either our standard or professional installation tool. The covering is held firmly in place by the track’s jaws. Its beauty is in its simplicity.
