The inherent Free-Floating Design in all of our systems means minimum surface damage since the fabrics float over the backings with no adhesives.
All of our panels and wall finishing systems are extremely durable and long-lasting. Their frame is made from a high-impact plastic that will not shatter or break. The ReCore® backing is made from semi-rigid non-woven polyester that is incredibly tough and able to absorb hammer blows and other impacts with little to no surface damage. We choose fabrics that are highly resistant to wear, self-heal when tacked, and look great even after years of use.
All of our Panels & Systems offer some level of wall protection but the level of that protection is dependent upon the components you choose.
Our Simple Three Part Stretched Fabric System
1. Frame
The Frame outlines the shape of the panel or wall, holding the fabric in place and protecting the edges with a high-impact polymer frame. Frames are used as Intermediate Joints for instances when installation width is greater than width of the fabric. Learn More
2. Backing
Backing is placed within the frame covering the wall. Fabricmate offers a variety of backings that absorb reverberated sound, provide wall protection, thermal insulation, and make a pinnable bulletin-board like surface. Learn More
3. Fabric
Fabric is stretched taut over the backing rolled into the frame. This allows the panel surface to spring back when struck, effectively mitigating visible damage. When its time to refresh your look easily remove and replace the fabric.

Our high-impact panels and systems are perfect for high-traffic environments where there is the potential for rubbing, dents, spills, stains, and more. Our high-impact fabrics are great for use in busy environments where long-lasting durability is needed. Panels being used as wall protection should be faced with a high-impact fabric. These designated fabrics can be expected to last in high-traffic environments for over 15 years and can withstand up to a minimum of 50,000 double-rubs.
A double-rub is a motion that approximates the wear and tear that comes from someone sitting down on and getting up from an upholstered seat. Regular use for a year is around 3,000 double-rubs.
Fabricmate® panels and full-wall systems use our revolutionary ReCore® insulation (unless a different substrate is requested) to deliver incredible wall protection by mitigating visible damage while supplying acoustic and tackable functionality. Since the fabric is stretched across the panel and not glued to it, dents, dings, and other damage go virtually unnoticed when the fabric springs back into place, keeping your walls looking great!
