Our Simple Three Part Stretched Fabric System
1. Frame
The Frame outlines the shape of the panel or wall, holding the fabric in place and protecting the edges with a high-impact polymer frame. Frames are used as Intermediate Joints for instances when installation width is greater than width of the fabric. Learn More
2. Backing
Backing is placed within the frame covering the wall. Fabricmate offers a variety of backings that absorb reverberated sound, provide wall protection, thermal insulation, and make a pinnable bulletin-board like surface. Learn More
3. Fabric
Fabric is stretched taut over the backing rolled into the frame. This allows the panel surface to spring back when struck, effectively mitigating visible damage. When its time to refresh your look easily remove and replace the fabric.

HIGH-IMPACT
SUSTAINABLE
ANTI-MICROBIAL
ReCore® acoustical backing is naturally resistant to insects, spores, and bacteria making it antifungal and antimicrobial. Being free of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), like formaldehyde, makes it completely safe in enclosed environments. Since our ReCore® is inherently biostatic (inhibits the growth of microbes) there is no need to treat it with any agents or chemicals. One more layer of protection for you and your walls.
Safe
Non-Toxic
Stops growth of microbes and microorganisms
FIRE-RATED
Fire-Resistant building materials are a necessity in nearly every environment. From Classroom and Education Environments to Commercial, Residential, and Government Buildings, ReCore® acoustical backing is the best option for functionality and safety. Being fire-rated means you have less to worry about as an installer or an end-user. Having a low Flame Spread and a low Smoke Developed Index makes ReCore® a perfect choice in applications where fire-resistance is wanted and/or mandatory.
ASTM E84 Class A, UBC 8-1, ANSI/NFPA 101
Maximum Flame Spread Index: 1" - 15
Maximum Smoke Developed Index: 1" - 200
THERMAL
Heating and Cooling can be a huge monthly expense depending on your space and insulation setup. Our ReCore® acoustical backing can be installed on top of the wall to add another layer of Thermal Insulation to your space. ReCore® helps maintain uniform temperatures which lowers the carbon footprint of the building and saving you money. There is no maintenance needed so you just "set it and forget it".
Helps regulate temperature
Energy-Efficient: Save on heating and AC
NON-ABSORBENT
Since our ReCore® is made from 100% recycled plastic water bottles, it inherently does not absorb water or moisture. It's a perfect solution for areas where moisture is present such as basements, boats and marine craft as well as indoor and outdoor swimming areas/pools. It can be installed as a backing behind fabric or can be installed raw and exposed to the elements, either way, ReCore® is the best choice for functionality and style.
Non-hygroscopic
Safe for Boats & Marine Craft
Doesn't absorb liquids or moisture

SENSIBLE SUSTAINABILITY
Polyester is a versatile, sustainable, and safe fiber that is incredibly popular in the medical and hospitality industries. Not only is polyester lightweight and incredibly tough, it is resistant to mold, mildew and most chemicals. Polyester makes for a perfect insulation. |
100% RECYCLABLE
Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source. It curbs discards, thereby prolonging landfill life and reducing toxic emissions from incinerators. It helps promote new recycling streams for polyester clothing that is no longer wearable. It also results in less air, water, and soil contamination compared to using non-recycled polyester.
VOC FREE
Volatile organic compounds (VOC's) are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. VOC's include a variety of chemicals, some of which may have short and long term adverse health effects. Concentrations of many VOC's are consistently higher indoors (up to ten times higher) than outdoors. VOC's are emitted by a wide array of products numbering in the thousands. Examples include: paints and lacquers, paint strippers, cleaning supplies, pesticides, building materials and furnishings, office equipment such as copiers and printers, correction fluids and carbonless copy paper, graphics and craft materials including glues and adhesives, permanent markers, and photographic solutions.
ReCore® has zero VOC's. Unlike other products that may use chemicals with VOC's, ReCore® is completely safe in enclosed environments.
ANTIMICROBIAL & ANTIFUNGAL
The compacted non-woven polyester mesh that makes up ReCore® is naturally resistant to insects, spores and bacteria. It provides little room for insects to hide and has zero nutritional value for them giving even less incentive for them to try and make it their home. Because polyester is antimicrobial and non-hygroscopic it is used in a wide variety of fields where safety is of the utmost concern. Hospitals provide hypoallergenic polyester bedding to patients and have started using it in their staff clothing to help reduce the spread of bug-born infections. The safest form of plastic food storage is in PET plastic, which is a type of polyester.
MADE FROM 60% POST-CONSUMER CONTENT
Using post-consumer recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source. It curbs discards, thereby prolonging landfill life and reducing toxic emissions from incinerators. It helps promote new recycling streams for polyester clothing that is no longer wearable. It also results in less air, water, and soil contamination compared to using non-recycled polyester. All those discarded bottles of water and bits of plastic packaging are not taking up space in landfills. They are being recycled, reused, and reconstituted into something far more useful.
